1. Introduction
Thank you for using Mode Switch (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Information Required for Functionality
To provide its core functionality, the App requires the following permissions and accesses the following data exclusively on your device:
- Bluetooth Access:
The App requires permission to access your Bluetooth connections, including previously paired devices. This allows the App to detect when specified Bluetooth devices connect or disconnect. - System Settings Access:
The App requires permission to access and modify certain system settings (including Do Not Disturb settings) only as instructed by you. These changes are triggered by the connection or disconnection of specified Bluetooth devices. - Background Operation:
The App requires permission to run in the background to ensure it can respond to Bluetooth connection/disconnection events at all times. - Location Services (Optional):
If enabled by you, the App may use location services to detect nearby Bluetooth devices. This permission is optional and can be disabled at any time.
2.2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following data only on your device to function properly:
- The list of Bluetooth devices you specify as triggers.
- The settings changes you configure for each trigger (e.g., enabling Do Not Disturb when a specific device connects).
- Your current system settings (to restore them after a trigger event).
- Preferences such as whether to show or hide the "Quick Tips" card.
No data is collected, transmitted, or shared with any third parties, including the developer (nth Iteration). All data remains solely on your device.
3. How We Use Your Information
The App uses the information and permissions only to:
- Detect Bluetooth device connections and disconnections.
- Apply the user-configured settings changes when triggered by specified Bluetooth devices.
- Restore your original settings after a trigger event.
- Provide optional notifications for Bluetooth connection/disconnection events (if enabled by you).
4. Data Retention
All data is stored locally on your device and is retained only as long as the App is installed. If you uninstall the App, all associated data is permanently deleted from your device.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Mode Switch does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data with third parties, including the developer (nth Iteration). All data remains on your device and is not accessible to anyone else.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and Control:
You can view, edit, or delete the data stored by the App (e.g., Bluetooth triggers and settings configurations) directly within the App’s settings. - Permissions:
You can revoke any permissions (e.g., Bluetooth access, location services, notifications, or background operation) at any time through your device’s settings. However, revoking certain permissions may affect the App’s functionality. - Uninstallation:
You can uninstall the App at any time, which will permanently delete all locally stored data.
7. Security
The App does not transmit or store your data externally, so there is no risk of data breaches related to third-party servers. However, we recommend keeping your device secure to protect locally stored data.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
